  • Good value for the money
  • The 10-year warranty is a nice bonus
  • Reduces the amount of dangerous road shock for both on- and off-road biking

  • The reservoir tubes don’t fit tight enough to the rest of the shock, meaning you’ll need to spend some time fighting to get everything connected
  • The reservoir contains the foaming agent

One Pair.

Nestled in the heart of the Auto Parts district in New York city is a 10,000 square foot warehouse. It contains an innumerable number of shock absorbers. When you walk inside the warehouse, you’ll feel the air still. The silence is deafening.

All of the shocks’ packaging has been stripped, and they’re neatly stacked on the shelves. Aside from the occasional squeaky wheel or forklift, the place is completely silent.

  • Affordable
  • Easy to replace
  • Made by the OEM

Every automobile has a suspension system made up of parts like shocks and struts, which allow them to go over rough roads with little difficulty. Many cars come with their parts from a brand you can trust – or should be able to – think of the name ACDelco – and are characterized by quality and lasting durability. Usually, when looking for high quality replacement shocks, the ACDelco brand will be your go-to as they follow stringent standards of quality and reliability.

One of these trusted components is a rear shock absorber for your car or truck, which comes without its holding bracket installed. This bracket is sold separately but the shock itself is a high quality product and will be the same as the one that came with the vehicle.

One of the best features of the ACDelco brand is that there are just as many OEM replacements as there are OEM parts, which can be expensive (as in the case of engine parts, for example). This means that your inexpensive replacement will provide you with quality performance and comfort and that you won’t be stuck with substandard shock absorbers

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What shocks give the smoothest ride?

The right suspension is very important in the long run. It can make a world of difference in the way your car feels on the road and how it responds to bumps. Most modern vehicles, even luxury cars, come with very soft, comfort-oriented suspension that is not very good for performance driving.

What are the best 4×4 shock absorbers?

While I’m not personally qualified to speak directly from experience, judging from what I’ve read and from what my research and opinion has convinced me of, OME is the best shock absorber brand out there. Why is OME the best shock absorber brand? I’m going to tell you.

The performance factor: In terms of performance, OME is far and above the best shock absorber brand for a few reasons. First, these shocks are just built fabulously well. They’re great because they last a long time and can handle serious stress. Second, the performance factor is related to the quality of the product. OME offers the best suspension components on the market to essentially anyone. Their product is durable, performant and can be distributed to basically anyone.

Does all this mean for the casual driver? I’m not sure.

Which is the best shock absorber gas or oil?

Shock Absorber – Nitrogen vs. Conventional Vehicles can set their shocks to extra soft for their bumpy desert trips, while trucks can load up their shocks with nitrogen to reduce that bounce and maximize the load capacity. Using Nitrogen as the suspension fluid is the preference of the race teams and auto manufacturers because it is a much purer gas, minimizing contamination. Nitrogen gas is also cheaper when purchased in bulk for commercial trucking, but for the average consumer it may not make sense to buy more than you need. That said, using nitrogen for your shocks may improve performance, ride comfort, and life of your shocks by reducing the corrosion of moisture and carbon build-up.

Are Monroe shock absorbers any good?

Yes, I definitely think Monroe shock absorbers are worth looking into. They really are pretty awesome. I’ve been using the same set of front shocks for a few years now – they’ve had a few uses, so they’re body has a few scratches in it. But in terms of function they’ve really held up quite well. Used shocks often go for a good deal at Craigslist and can be easily found there.

It’s not a bad place to find a set of shocks, but you’ll still have to do some research to know what the best shocks are. There’s a lot of variation in front shock absorbers depending on your vehicle. And you want to get the right one!

Maxxis Brand are by far the best shock absorbers we could find (even NRC agree with us) but the price tag makes it a difficult purchase. We recommend paying the extra money though as these shock absorbers are equipped to deal with the harshest shocks and resist breakdown for a long time. Plus, the directional damping delivers the most comfortable ride. However, if you’re looking for something a little cheaper that still performs well, the Monroe Sport shocks are a nice alternative.
