With the launch of the iPad Air in November 2013, some of the basic questions technology enthusiasts had were: "Is it worth getting the iPad 2? And how do they compare?"

The launch of the iPad Air was a game changer in a number of ways. It was thinner, lighter, and faster than previous versions; it came with a high resolution screen and Apple's A7 processor. For many technology enthusiasts, the appeal was immediately obvious. Others however, were a little more sceptical about whether there was really a need to buy the latest Apple gadget. They argued that the iPad 2 was good enough for them, and the iPad Air should be reserved for people who wanted the portability of a tablet PC.

After exhaustive research and analysis, we reached a surprising conclusion that is both positive and resolute. If you want to be engaged in a serious professional endeavor (that involves productivity), you should buy the iPad Air. However, if you simply want to watch shows, movies, surf the web, and play games on iOS, the iPad 2 is the way to go.
