VUDU is an entertainment solution that is integrated into Internet devices (smart TVs, Blu-ray players, Roku boxes, PS3, Xbox 360). Since it’s on the Web, it provides the most convenient access to all of your films and television shows. But is that it’s primary advantage over iTunes?

The short answer is yes. The main reason behind VUDU’s popularity is this ease of access. But what does that mean and why is it so important? Well, you will get almost all of the perks available with the iTunes store, but in addition, you will have the advantage of being able to watch your shows on laptops, smartphones, tablets, and gaming consoles.

This kind of access also means that you will have the freedom to watch your media on any television at any time. This is a great feature particularly for the times when you are traveling or away from home for an extended period of time.

Some people believe that the quality of the image is better on VUDU because there is little to no compression. But that’s not the case. In both VUDU and the iTunes Store, the video is compressed for optimal size and download time. But that's where the similarity ends.
