In a world first, Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) developed a transparent touch-screen phone that could solve the problem of exposing privacy to the public.

The new smart phone prototype is made of a 3.5-cm-thick glass material. The exterior and interior parts of the phone are made of the glass, which is under the development of ITRI.

Developed by the Institute, the transparent screen displayed will remain intact on a digital display behind it.

But the ITRI’s detailed testing is not over. The company is planning to conduct more rigorous tests.
